Job Description
As a Freelance Compositor, you will take the elements the production has built and assemble them into a finished, cohesive image. You’ll work closely with Directors, Animation, and Post teams to ensure the final picture reflects the visual intent of the production from first frame to last. Duties may include but are not limited to: 1. Compositing animation, backgrounds, effects, and lighting elements into final scenes 2. Maintaining visual consistency across shots and sequences 3. Integrating VFX, particles, and stylized effects within the production’s established look 4. Collaborating with the Director and Art Director on final image quality and color 5. Delivering finished shots in formats compatible with Nehslo’s post pipeline

Job Description
As a Freelance Editor, you will shape the pacing, performance, and story of a production in the edit. The cut is a creative decision at Nehslo — not a technical one — and we’re looking for editors who understand that distinction and bring genuine storytelling instincts to the timeline. Duties may include but are not limited to: 1. Assembling and refining cuts from animatic through picture lock 2. Collaborating with Directors and Producers to develop pacing, rhythm, and story structure in the edit 3. Managing revisions and maintaining version control across the editorial process 4. Cutting to temp music and working alongside composers and sound designers as the track develops 5. Delivering exports and sequences compatible with Nehslo’s post pipeline

As a Freelance Sound Designer, you will build the sonic world of a production from the ground up. Sound at Nehslo is not an afterthought — it is part of the storytelling, and we’re looking for designers who treat it that way. Duties may include but are not limited to: 1. Designing and building original sound palettes for characters, environments, and events 2. Recording, editing, and placing foley, ambience, and effects across the production 3. Collaborating with Directors and Composers to ensure sound and score serve a unified sonic vision 4. Mixing dialogue, effects, and music to broadcast or distribution specification 5. Delivering finished audio in formats compatible with Nehslo’s post pipeline

As a Freelance Composer, you will write original music that serves the story and the picture. Whether the production calls for a full orchestral score, an intimate acoustic palette, or something entirely unexpected, you’ll work closely with Directors and Sound Designers to develop a musical identity that is specific to the project and not interchangeable with anything else. Duties may include but are not limited to: 1. Composing and producing original score for assigned productions 2. Spotting sessions with Directors to establish musical tone, themes, and placement 3. Developing leitmotifs and recurring musical themes for characters or story elements where applicable 4. Delivering stems and finished cues in formats compatible with the production’s mix pipeline 5. Revising and adapting cues based on editorial changes and director feedback

As a Freelance Director, you will own the creative vision and execution of assigned productions. You'll work closely with Producers, Department Heads, and Studio Leadership to translate scripts and creative briefs into finished work that is visually cohesive and emotionally resonant. Depending on project scope and format, duties may include but are not limited to: 1. Defining the overall tone, pacing, visual language, and performance direction for assigned productions 2. Collaborating with Story, VizDev, and Art Direction to establish and maintain creative alignment across departments 3. Directing talent, animators, and crew toward a unified creative vision 4. Overseeing storyboards, animatics, shot composition, and editorial continuity 5. Reviewing cuts, edits, and final deliverables for quality, tone, and story integrity 6. Serving as creative lead on client productions where directorial oversight is part of the engagement

As a Freelance Animation Producer, you will own the production process from the ground up — or step into an active pipeline and keep it moving. Depending on project scope, you may serve as a full production lead or a line producer focused on day-to-day crew and schedule management. You'll work closely with Studio Leadership, Directors, and Department Heads to deliver projects on time, on budget, and on brief. Duties may include but are not limited to: 1. Building and managing production schedules, budgets, and crew plans 2. Coordinating across departments to maintain pipeline flow and creative alignment 3. Serving as the primary point of contact for client productions, managing expectations, approvals, and deliverables 4. Tracking assets, retakes, and milestones from pre-production through final delivery 5. Identifying and resolving production bottlenecks before they affect schedule or quality 6. Onboarding and managing freelance crew in a remote, project-based environment

You might be breaking a series episode, punching up a draft, rewriting a client script, or pitching an original concept for the studio's development slate. What stays constant is the expectation that you can serve the story in whatever form it needs. Duties may include but are not limited to: 1. Writing and rewriting scripts for animated short-form, episodic, and long-form productions 2. Contributing to and working within a series writing room environment 3. Delivering punch-ups and revisions on existing drafts under production deadlines 4. Developing original concepts and pitching ideas for the studio's slate when opportunities arise 5. Collaborating with Directors and Producers to ensure scripts serve the production's creative and logistical needs 6. Adapting and reworking existing IP for new formats, audiences, or client briefs
